Why Are We Fighting?

Hip-hop is being bastardized. The culture of hip-hop has become a marketing tool for everything from cell phones to hamburgers. The art of rapping is no longer seen as an art but a way for anyone with “the look” to make a dollar. Hip-hop has circled the globe ten million plus times and is no longer in the hands of those who created it. It is no longer in the arms of the ones who love it. The evolution of the music is no longer determined by the artists and the fans that cherish it. This all takes place in a boardroom now. Most of today’s fans are now convinced a quality artist is determined by their record sales and celebrity status. Because of this rap music has been moving, but yet to progress. Songs with very little content flood the air waves, and radio stations (much like some industry executives) look down upon underground artists. The very term underground rapper shows what Hip-hop or “The Game” has been reduced to. We intend on changing this. This show will be the conduit through which both artists and fans of all types will be able to reach a wider audience. This will be the proof that some of us still remember what hip-hop is all about.
